7/12/06 Added a page for Swan Lake, collecting quotes from articles and interviews. Also made a small Prancing Cat page.

7/11/06 So lots has transpired since my last update. Here's a quick recap:

Carey played a bunch of acoustic songs on the radio show Phoning It In on WMBR, including three new Frog Eyes tunes (one of which was just released on the new EP) and a Swan Lake song. He reveals that the new Frog Eyes album will be called Tears of the Valedictorian.

The aforementioned new EP, The Future Is Inter-disciplinary or Not at All, is released!

Also released, the reissues of the first two albums, with bonus tracks including the second Blue Pine album and some unreleased sessions with Spencer Krug.

The fanatastic site daytrotter.com has released for download a three song session featuring two epic new songs, "Caravan Breakers" and "Bushels."

A few random tidbits have leaked out about the existence of a mysterious new Carey/Mel side project called Prancing Cat and the Spectacular Elements...

Frog Eyes toured with Sunset Rubdown, and announced Wolf Parade dates:

1/24/06 Yeah! Some cool new news, though I have little info at the moment. First off, apparently Absolutely Kosher is reissuing The Golden River and The Bloody Hand, both with bonus tracks. Rad! Also, Carey has formed a group called Swan Lake with Destroyer's Dan Bejar and Sunset Rubdown's Spencer Krug. Who can say what that crazy bunch will produce?

12/19/05 New tour dates! With Sunset Rubdown (Spencer Krug, former keyboarder for Frog Eyes and current Wolf Parader) opening. Should be excellent shows.

    * Fri, 5/12 - Winnipeg, MB @ The Collective Cabaret w/ Sunset Rubdown (18+)
    * Sat, 5/20 - Montreal, QC @ El Salon w/ Sunset Rubdown (AA)
    * Wed, 5/24 - New York, NY @ the Mercury Lounge w/ Sunset Rubdown (21+)
    * Thurs, 5/25 - Cambridge, MA @ TT the Bearsw/ Sunset Rubdown (18+)
    * Fri, 5/26 - Hanover, NH @ Fuel Rocket Club w/ Sunset Rubdown (AA)

I also added a second Frog Eyes cover to the covers page, and it's scarier than the original. Send more, folks! We can put together a Frog Eyes tribute album in no time. Apparently there's gonna be some exciting Frog Eyes news next month (according to Absolutely Kosher) so stay tuned for that.

Fall came and went and the Blackout Beach single never materialized. I'm sure it will soon.

9/9/05 Apparently Grayson Walker (the keyboardist) has left the band. When I saw 'em in Toronto last night the band instead featured a second guitarist, whose name I stupidly did not inquire about. I liked the keyboards, but as Melanie the drummer noted,"change is good." Indeed it is! She also told me that they have four new songs they plan on recording after the Xiu Xiu tour. I guess those are probably the Acuarela EP?

Frog Eyes have recorded an EP for Acuarela that will be probably released in Jan/Feb 2006

Blackout Beach will release a single on Soft Abuse this Fall. Or will they?
