There are a few apps that i've that have worked for some hard drives.
There are of course physical solutions, but I'm assuming you're going
software if possible.

Is this an IDE disk?
You could check out the linux solution listed on that page and see if it
helps.
I did see an app around about 3 years ago that was retail but said it
could change the passwords on protected ide hard drives. This might be
it but I'm not sure.

I haven't checked out if there are any "fixes" for the app, nor have i
disassembled its code to see what it's using to block full access, but
who would do something as illegal as that? heh. It's supposed to disable
the hdd password. Windows only.
