Re: [pen] geek question re leatherman
I happen to be using a Gerber multi-tool right now, I think it was more
convenient than the leatherman that I had. The letherman didn't seem to like
being twisted hard while using one of the screwdrivers because of it's
folding construction. My Gerber has the pliers that slide out and lock, and
all the tools also lock into position. The lock is also a lot sturdier than
that of the leatherman, it will not unlock until you press the release
unlike the leatherman. not that leatherman's are bad, they're great. It's
just this particular gerber is better. at least for me. has pliers,
needlenose, wirecutters, scissors, file, etc. I can't even begin to think of
how many things I've fixed with it, from vcr's to refrigerators, to the
squeaky door on my girlfriends bedroom... One thing, I'm not sure what kind
of warranty the gerber has, but, I do remember for certain that the
leatherman has a lifetime guarantee..

i feel like a tool for asking this (no pun intended), but, which
leatherman is the one to get? i've gotten by with a really fucking sharp
knife that i carry on me and pliers/crimpers/etc in my briefcase, but a
leatherman would actually be kind of handy now. they make several
different models, any recommendations?
