win2k does support kerberos, i believe AD uses it on its own, though i may
be wrong on that (was 1-2 years ago i read about AD, and it was talkin about
its kerberos authentication)
as for umich/win2k, i believe its kerberosV win2k uses, and umich hacked up
whatever they needed to get their AD root to authenticate users to their
kerberos authentication scheme, which they probably hacked up as well.
maybe willy can ask matt if he knows anyone at itd that can give more
information on how its done.
