The best way to defeat this would be to write (yes... pick up that pen and
paper) your representatives and let them know how you feel about this.  Most
representatives are eager to hear what the public thinks about certain
issues.  Unfortunately, most of them have no clue about anything
technological.  This bill will have devastating effects on a wide array of
industries.  If you thought the DMCA was bad just wait.  The sad thing is
that this will not prevent any copying.  Hell, the MPAA just busted a guy in
New York for copying and selling DVD's.  (see slashdot for more
information... I think it was posted a few days ago)
